Edinburgh’s New Year party is one of the most famous celebrations and one of the best.  Visitors from around the world descend on Edinburgh to experience the thrilling atmosphere and enjoy the many events taking place on Princes Street with one of the most stunning backdrops of Edinburgh Castle.  Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations show the world how to party!

Live Bands and DJs fill Princes Street with music and dancing as the city centre comes alive with festivities.  Truly one of the best and biggest outdoor parties in the world.

There are three days of spectacular events planned, popular bands and amazing crowds from around the globe.  Torchlight Processions, Scottish music on the Mound and watch top stars and the incredible fireworks from Princes Street Gardens.


30 December 2015

Festivities start on 30th December with the incredibly popular Torchlight Procession. An event for all the family with thousands of torch carriers illuminating the city following the massed pipes and drums.


New Year’s Eve 31 December 2015

In Edinburgh on New Year’s Eve there are four spectacular events; the Candlelit Concert, the Keilidh, the Hogmanay Street Party and Concert in the Gardens. This feast of entertainment and live music ends with a spectacular Midnight Fireworks display, which is broadcast to over 150 countries to an audience of over 1 billion people.


New Year’s Day 1st January 2016

On New Year’s Day you can join the  journey across Edinburgh’s Old Town, discovering the artistic delights of Scot:Lands. Discover the incredible new worlds in secret venues throughout the Old Town to find the best in music, art and theatre.

Only if you’re brave, should you head to the Loony Dook at South Queensferry, just outside the City for a refreshing swim in the wintery Forth River.

The many events include a circus, comedy and cabaret in the Paradiso Spiegeltent with performances from Circa, reviving Beyond.

The Stick Man, the adaptation of Julia Donaldson’s magical best-selling book.

Other shows include the legendary Camille O’Sullivan; Puddles Pity Party, the cabaret sensation of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015; Austentatious; Abandoman; Abandoman’s Bass Drop Ceilidh and Frisky & Mannish.
